"The Meadows"

After aquiring The Meadows in 1994, the stud was founded in 1996 by Phil and Jenny Gilbert with the purchase of Millah Murrah stud cows, which were soon supplemented with purchases from NEAB sales. Bulls have been sourced from Millah Murrah, Karoo and Ardrossan genetics utilising the best US, NZ & Australian bloodlines. (See Bloodlines page for further details.) .

We now run 700 angus females and breed more than 100 registered calves annually. We use AI and ET, flushing some of the best cows to come out of the Millah Murrah program such as Abigail T158, Flower S110, Helen T78, Honey S125 and Abigail S104. S125 is allowing us to continue a pure Australasian line, devoid of US blood. Other donors include Ardrossan Wilcooola V157, a Future Direction daughter of Ardroosan Wilcoola Q82, one of the most capacious and powerful cows in the breed, who sold for $30,000.
